Abstrakt:
Since 2000, the mission Sanctuaires osiriens de Karnak has been excavating the three Osirian chapels located to the north of the Great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak, which were built during the 25th and 26th Dynasties on the initiative of the God’s wives of Amun. During the last seasons, work has focused on the most recent chapel, that dedicated to Osiris Wennefer (formerly known as “chapel of Osiris master of eternity”), where excavations have revealed a wealth of new information about its decorative programme and the evolution of the cult of Osiris from the New Kingdom to the end of the 1st millennium BC. The lecture will present an overview of the mission’s most recent discoveries.
