7th Ptolemaic Summer School / 7. Ptolemäische Sommerschule in Prague

In between August 27 and 30, the Czech Institute of Egyptology hosted the 7th Ptolemaic Summer School. At this biennial international gathering, scholars working on Ptolemaic inscriptions in temples (Edfu, Esna, Dendara, Kom Ombo, Philae etc) and tombs as well as on artefacts, such as stelae and offering tables, meet to discuss problematic text passages from the point of view of transliteration, translation, grammar and interpretation.

Over thirty Egyptologists from numerous countries and institutions attended the Ptolemaic summer school in Prague, presenting twenty papers on a wide variety of topics related to the latest phase of the hieroglyphic script. The meeting also included two papers of members of the Czech Institute of Egyptology.
