International symposium on recent Czech excavations in Egypt (ICOM/CIPEG)

The Czech Institute of Egyptology (CIE) organises in collaboration with the International Committee for Egyptian and Sudan Archaeological Museums and Collections (CIPEG) of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) a half day symposium to present to an international group of curators of Egyptological museum collections an overview and update on recent research and excavations of the CIE in Egypt.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 27, from 9.30 to 13.00, in lecture hall P 300 (third floor) of the Faculty of Arts on nam. Jana Palacha.

 

Program:

09.30 – 09.45: Introduction to the institute and its research (Assoc. Prof. Jiří Janák, director of the CIE)

09.45 – 10.30: Research in the Old Kingdom cemetery at Abusir (Prof. Miroslav Bárta)

10.30 – 11.15: Djedkare Project in South Saqqara (Dr. Mohamed Megahed and Assoc. Prof. Hana Vymazalová)

11.15 – 12.15: Coffee break

12.15 – 13.00: Research in the Late Period shaft tomb cemetery at Abusir (Prof. Ladislav Bareš)
