Lecture by A. Yasur-Landau (Haifa University) and E.H. Cline (George Washington University), on Zoom. For registration to the lecture, please write to jana.mynarova@ff.cuni.cz.
Abstract: The renewed excavations at the Canaanite palace at Tel Kabri presented an opportunity to study two interconnected phenomena: the Canaanite political economy of the Middle Bronze Age and aspects of resilience in Canaanite cities. This lecture will present the results of seven seasons of excavation and numerous studies, including the wine cellar and the probable destruction by earthquake, thereby creating a narrative of the rise and collapse of a Mediterranean polity, as well as its interconnections with the Aegean area and Anatolia.
