CRE 2018 Guidelines for contributors

After the conference, we would like to turn your attention to the guidelines for contributors. Manuscripts must be submitted to cre2018prague@gmail.com in Word (WITHOUT figures)
and in PDF (WITH figures). Figures should be submitted also as separate files together with the text. The deadline is 1st October 2018.

PRAGUE, 25–28 JUNE 2018

We are pleased to announce that another  Current Research in Egyptology conference will be held in Prague. It be held at the Charles University, Faculty of Arts, Celetná Street 20, Prague.

The topics are not limited, with the focus on Egyptian and Sudanese archaeology, history, philology and religion from Prehistoric to Byzantine Period. Interdisciplinary projects (such as natural sciences, etc.) are also welcome.

Presentations should last max. 20 minutes + 5 minutes discussion, and posters must be in B1 format.

The official language of the conference is English.

Registration for CRE 2018

You now can download a REGISTRATION FORM (which has to be submitted together with the payment): CRE_2018_Prague_Registration.

The registration fee per participant or per accompanying or visiting person covers the conference kit, four days of paper presentations, tea/coffee breaks, five keynote lectures and a sightseeing tour.

“Early Bird” registration fees: €50 (February 23^rd 2018 – March 31^th 2018)

Late registration fees: €70 (April 1^st 2018 – June 1^st 2018)

Accompanying / visiting person: €40 (February 23^rd 2018 – June 1^st 2018)

All participants must register by June 1^st 2018, at the very latest.

There are two possibilities to pay the conference fee:

1. a) Online by credit card (fee 0.75%). This is the preferred and easiest manner to pay your registration fee: https://online.ff.cuni.cz/kopla/faces/view/payment.xhtml;jsessionid=B1E5B05DF45DA19F6675633B3480CEED.
2. b) Bank transfer. Please be advised that this option will be (much) more expensive. Depending on your country of residence, the bank will charge you an extra amount, varying approximately from €8 to €40 on top of the registration fee. In this case, add your name and CRE 2018 Prague into the Payment Note.

Instructions for participants

Oral presentations

The time span reserved for every oral presentation is 25 minutes including discussion (20 min. presentation + 5 min. for discussion is recommended).

There will be projector available for .ppt (.pdf) presentation, which is recommended to accompany the lecture.

Posters

All posters should be delivered in printed form. It will not be possible to provide large format printing at the faculty.

The size of the posters is limited to max. 70 by 100 cm (limited by the size of the presentation panels). They should be oriented vertically (i.e. the shorter sides on the top and the bottom).
