We would like to cordially invite you to the workshop entitled The rise and development of the solar cult and architecture in Ancient Egypt. This one-day workshop is organized as a final event of the first year of the GAČR project “The rise and development of the solar cult and architecture in Third Millennium BC Egypt”, recently launched at the Czech Institute of Egyptology — Charles University in Prague.
In order to broaden the investigation horizon of the project and to stimulate further discussion, the scope of the workshop is not only to focus on the Third Millennium BC Egypt but also to go beyond this period. Papers looking at the development of the solar cult, and the related issues (history, archaeology, architecture, epigraphic sources), in later periods of Ancient Egyptian history will be also included into the program of the workshop.
The language of the workshop shall be English.
We are looking forward seeing you and for a deep and fruitful discussion,
